VARANASI:
According to Hindus the holiest city on earth and the abode
of Lord Shiva. Here through the ages, countless Hindus have
come to worship on the banks of the Ganges. By boat we will
float down the Ganges with the rising sun as countless worshippers
begin their day by offering prayers to God. Art, particularly
music and dance , is flourishing here and we will get a taste
of it during a typical Benares classical music concert.
SARNATH:
Sacred for over two and half thousand years as the birthplace
of Buddha's Mission of compassion to the world, Sarnath offers
a vision of the history and scope of Buddhism.
HARDWAR:
Called the Gateway to the Gods. Hardwar is one of
the holiest cities of India. Here, the Ganges begins its descent
into the plains of India. Every twelve years, the world's largest
religious gathering called KUMBHA MELA takes place
here.
RISHIKESH:
Since time immemorial this area has been the abode of saints
and sages. Rishikesh offers the aspirant a number of Ashrams
such as the well-known Shivananda Ashram. Located at the foothills
of Himalaya on the bank of the Ganges we will experience the
majesty of the Himalaya and the beauty of the Ganges.
UTTARKASHI:
Located higher up in Himalaya. Himalaya is one of the most impressive
mountains in the world. Nature is extremely beautiful and the
spiritual vibrations are simply beyond words.We will spend some
days in the midst of the Himalayan peaks on the banks of river
Ganges.
